About The Retreat

We look forward to your joining us at Cornerstone’s 12th Annual August Celebration and Challenge Retreat, on Saturday, August 11, 2018. This year’s focus is Psalm 133:1, “Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell [together] in unity!” So true, but so hard! Why? Some of the difficulty relates to our perceptions and expectations. How we see/perceive God, ourselves, and others defines what we expect and how we behave. During the Retreat, we will explore our own, others’, and society’s perceptions of God, self, and others. We will look to Scripture for insights, expansions, corrections, etc. to misconceptions relating to God, self, and others. The Retreat’s purpose is to help us value and want to fulfill God’s admonition that “brothers dwell [together] in unity.” How timely when divisiveness seems on the rise again in this country and throughout the world!

In the coming weeks, we will be sending out reminders. They will include “food for thought” in preparation for the Retreat. Here, we are including a meditation on one of our four key Scriptures—Psalm 133.

We prayerfully anticipate another enriching time together,

Jesse and Loretta Kemp
